The original Nifo Oti was a war club with a row of teeth  and a hook . Boars teeth were commonly used to make this weapon., which was really more of a club than a knife.
"Nifo, in Samoan, actually means "tooth", although modern usage includes the english word "knife". The original Nifo Oti was usually made out of Toa wood, or "iron wood" as it is known in english. The word "Toa" means "warrior".
